There are so many parties and things to do during New Years Eve in the Metro Detroit area, downtown Detroit especially. Motor City NYE, known as “The Drop” to local Detroiters, takes place within Campus Martius. It is a community event that is free to attend all evening long. The “Kid's Drop” is at 6:30PM with the featured event, The Drop at midnight. DJ Tom T and the band The Strange will provide main stage entertainment for the evening. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening. There will also be a food truck rally with all of Detroit's favorite street eats! Ice skating in Campus Martius park will be available to patrons throughout the evening until 1:00AM. At midnight, the Nordin Brothers' D-Burst will drop from the iconic Chase tower at midnight! The Resolution ball is the hottest place to be on New Years. The Filmore will be packed with entertainment from illusionists to high-wire acrobats, there will also be six big flat screen televisions tuned into the countdown in Times Square.
